Sporting director glossary
35 terms, defined from the game’s rules.
A
Academy
The club’s youth centre: ten levels, levels 4 to 10 being PRO. A new intake of youngsters arrives every 1 July.
Agent
He defends his player in the negotiation. Four personalities: greedy, impatient, loyal, proud. Each reacts to a different kind of argument.
B
Board
The board that judges your work. Its trust is measured as a percentage: it rises with results and good answers, and drops if you ignore the chairman. At 0%, you are fired.
Burnout
Your sporting-director stress rises with bad results, a negative budget or ignored messages. At 100%, it is burnout. Outings in Private life bring it down.
C
Champions’ League
The European cup for the top three of Division 1. Learn more →
Coach sheet
Your coach’s level, style, contract and relationship, plus the game plan.
Contract expiry
A player whose contract expires leaves for free if nothing is done: extend or sell beforehand.
Contract extension
You offer a wage and a length, and the window shows the chance of agreement. A refusal lowers the player’s morale and blocks a new offer for 14 days.
D
Deadline Day
The last day of the window, when urgent agent messages arrive.
Difficulty level
Easy, Medium (default) or Hard. It sets gains, penalties, stress pressure and the share of the unexpected. Learn more →
Dirty Hands
Discreet actions paid from your personal account (referee, press, board, rival…), with a risk of scandal. PRO tier only. Learn more →
E
Ego
How sensitive a player is to consideration. A high ego reacts badly to curt answers.
F
Facilities
Training Academy, Medical Centre, Training Centre, Recovery Centre, Shop, Fan Zone, VIP Boxes and Press Room. Bought once with the club budget.
G
Game plan
Six formations. After a bad run you can propose one to the coach: he accepts (+2 strength for 3 matches), adapts it his own way (+1.5) or refuses.
L
League phase
The format of the European cups: a single table of 36 clubs and 8 matches (6 for the two minor cups). The top 8 go straight to the round of 16, 9th to 24th play playoffs. Learn more →
M
Market value
A player’s reference price. An immediate sale is made at this value minus 15%.
Match Center
The match screen: announced line-up before, pitch and stats during, summary with scorers, ratings and man of the match after. The Simulate button plays it all at once.
Morale
A player’s state of mind. Little playing time, a refused extension or a badly received answer all lower it.
N
Negotiation
At each turn, you pick one of three replies among Logical, Aggressive, Financial, Charm and Threat. Adapt it to the agent’s personality.
P
Potential
The level a player can reach. The scout adds potential points to the youngsters he spots. Learn more →
Promise
A commitment made (reinforcement, extension, playing time, wins) checked at the deadline: bonus if kept, reproach and penalty otherwise.
R
Recruitment cell
It lets you target a position for the window. It can be launched once per window.
Renown and rank
Renown raises your rank, from assistant sporting director up to Chairman. A rank once earned is never lost.
Reputation
It follows the club’s ranking: it rises when the club wins and falls otherwise. The press relays it, and it affects attendance.
S
Simple / Full
The Office display: Full mode shows every number and panel.
Squad limit
The number of players is capped at 28.
Staff
Eight roles, each giving a bonus per level (1 to 10). Levels 1 to 3 are free. Learn more →
Starter, substitute, unwanted
A player’s three statuses. A substitute with low morale may come to complain about playing time.
T
Ticketing
The ticket price is adjustable: too high, the crowd stays away; too low, you lose money. Attendance also depends on reputation, ranking and opponent.
Tiers
Free, PRO, EDITOR and LEGEND. One-time payment, no subscription.
Transfer list
You put a player on it with an asking price, from 50 to 200% of his value. The higher it is, the fewer offers you get. Offers arrive by email.
Transfer window
The transfer windows: July, August and January. An email warns you at the opening, seven then three days before the close, and at the close.
W
Wage bill
The sum of your squad’s wages, paid every month. It must not exceed the club’s cap.

The limit your wage bill must not exceed. Going over is punished by the board. It varies by club. Learn more →
